Have you moved into a new or resale house and need a Green Bin? 

Request a Green Bin Kit

This form is for residents who are moving into a new build or resale house and need a Green Bin and kitchen container to participate in the Region’s Green Bin program. Please note that this is a one-time free kit. Delivery of kits can take up to 10 business days. If you are moving to a new or resale house, please take your existing Green Bin with you.

New and replacement Blue Boxes

Durham’s recycling program is managed by Circular Materials, the administrator of Ontario's common collection system.

For new and replacement blue boxes, please reach out to Circular Materials' local recycling contractor.

Purchase or exchange your green bin and kitchen container online and receive delivery to your home. Delivery can take up to 10 business days.

Prices:

  • Kitchen container for food waste (12.3 x 8 x 9.32 inches excluding handle) - $4 each.
  • Curbside green bin (15.5 x 16.3 x 24 inches excluding handle) - $19 each.
  • Backyard composters - $30 each.
  • Exchange broken kitchen container - free
  • Exchange broken curbside green bin - free

Replace a broken green bin in-person

Broken green bins and kitchen containers are replaced free of charge. Bring your broken bins to the following locations for exchange:
