Proceed with caution through construction zones

The number of construction projects increases as the weather warms up. To protect the safety of workers, other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, all drivers are reminded to slow down and proceed with caution through construction zones or areas where workers are present.

Drivers are also reminded that speed limits are reduced in construction zones, and fines are doubled when workers are present.

Water Billing ends customer self assessment (TeleRead) water meter reading program

Durham Region has moved from the customer self-assessment (TeleRead) water meter card program to full water meter readings by Meter Readers. This eliminates the need for customers to provide readings and reduced the number of estimated bills. Automated speed enforcement continues to improve road safety

Speed is a contributing factor in approximately one-third of fatal collisions. Reducing speed is the best way to reduce both the frequency and severity of collisions in our community.
