Regional Council approves 2019 water and sewer use rates

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2019 water and sanitary sewer user rates, with a combined increase of 1.8 per cent, or $4.32 per quarterly billing ($17.28 per year) for the average Durham Region household.

More bus-only and bicycle lanes along Durham Highway 2 in Ajax and Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – Three more segments of dedicated bus-only and bicycle lanes are now complete along Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2) through Ajax and Pickering.
The three new Kingston Road segments (Whites Road, Brock Road and Westney Road) add dedicated bus-only and on-road buffered bicycle lanes, along with the existing two lanes in each direction. Dedicated right- and left-turn lanes are provided at the major intersections.
