Carbon monoxide exceedance at DYEC

Whitby, Ontario – On Saturday, May 4, a carbon monoxide (CO) spike led to an exceedance of the four-hour rolling average limit at the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC). The limit is set at 40 mg/Rm3 (milligrams per reference cubic metre). The CO levels were 45 mg/Rm3. CO is monitored as an operational parameter indicating combustion performance at the facility. All other emissions remain within compliance limits.
