Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham, along with the Municipality of Clarington, City of Oshawa and Town of Whitby are asking the Province to reaffirm its commitment to extend GO Train service east to Oshawa and Bowmanville. Just this week, Durham Region and local municipalities passed unanimous resolutions asking the provincial government to move forward with the GO Train Lakeshore East extension, resolve all pending negotiations and begin construction on this long-awaited project.

More bus-only and bicycle lanes along Durham Highway 2 in Ajax and Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – Three more segments of dedicated bus-only and bicycle lanes are now complete along Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2) through Ajax and Pickering.
The three new Kingston Road segments (Whites Road, Brock Road and Westney Road) add dedicated bus-only and on-road buffered bicycle lanes, along with the existing two lanes in each direction. Dedicated right- and left-turn lanes are provided at the major intersections.
