Whitby, Ontario – The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer for The Regional Municipality of Durham:
“Indigenous Peoples have a long history of serving our country in times of conflict, war and peace. But it was not until 1994 that the contributions of Indigenous Veterans were recognized. Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Local Immigration Partnership (DLIP) has released a new report, titled A Look at Durham: Trends in Immigration and Citizenship.
Where: This report is available online at durhamimmigration.ca.
When: Trends over the last four decades are contained within the report, noting immigration numbers within each local area municipality, and the region at-large, before 1980 until 2021.

Region of Durham celebrates opening of Beaverton Heights transitional housing

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is beginning to welcome program participants to Beaverton Heights transitional housing.
The 47-unit residence provides accommodation and access to wraparound services. Located at 121 Nine Mile Road, Beaverton, the residence includes a community hub space, outdoor garden areas and recreational facilities. The virtual tour is available on YouTube.
