Whitby, Ontario – The following statement is being issued on behalf of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer:
“Today, March 28, in consultation with the Durham Region Medical Officer of Health, the Chief Administrative Officer, Regional Emergency Control Group, and in partnership with all of our local municipalities, I am happy to officially lift the state of emergency in Durham Region.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is reminding residents about the value of water and the importance of practising water efficiency by celebrating World Water Day on March 22.
Durham Region’s municipal water supply customers have access to clean, safe drinking water delivered in an economical manner, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. About 95 per cent of water in Durham’s system comes from Lake Ontario, with the rest coming from underground sources and Lake Simcoe.

Health Department providing immunization clinics for students who missed school-based vaccinations

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is announcing the start of catch-up immunization clinics for students in grades 7 to 12 who need immunizations that were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning April 4 and for a limited time, students can receive Hepatitis B, Meningitis, and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) immunizations at community immunization clinics.
