Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham and the Durham Regional Police Service would like to remind everyone of the importance of following public health protocols during this third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham recently became aware of a cybersecurity incident that occurred with a third-party software provider, which impacted the region.
We have contacted the relevant authorities and regulators. Our IT teams, working with the service provider, took immediate steps to secure our systems. The incident did not impact the Region’s core IT systems.

Whitby, Ontario – Beginning April 10, 2021, seniors and all residents of Durham Region can book a free round trip from their residence to a local vaccine clinic using Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) On Demand or Specialized Services (eligibility required for Specialized Services). This temporary free service is funded by a generous $10,000 donation from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) in support of the province’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
