Don’t let windy weather litter your neighbourhood

Whitby, Ontario - The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents and businesses to help reduce litter in the community on waste collection days. Recyclables set out at the curb for Blue Box collection, including containers and paper materials, can blow away during windy weather if not set out correctly. Leaving blue box litter in your neighbourhood, parks, and along the streets is detrimental to the environment and safety of the community.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane restrictions on Anderson Street (Regional Road 36) in the Town of Whitby. 

When: Ongoing to ­­­­June 12. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Anderson Street, from 85 m south of Crawforth Street to Rossland Road (Regional Road 28), in Whitby.

Road closure of Winchester Road East in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of a road closure of Winchester Road East (Regional Road 3) in the City of Oshawa.

When: May 19 to 21. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Winchester Road East, immediately east and west of Simcoe Street. 

Why: To safely place surface asphalt.

When: May 7 to 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Altona Road from Finch Avenue to Sparrow Circle, in Pickering.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane shifting and restrictions on Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Whitby.  

When: May 6 to September 2020. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Taunton Road East from Coronation Road to the Highway 412 northbound off-ramp, in the Town of Whitby. 

Why: Roadwork, infrastructure and intersection improvements to support new development.
