Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming waterfront trail closure and detour in the Town of Whitby.
When: First week of May until summer 2024. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Pedestrian access to the current alignment of the Whitby Waterfront Trail next to the Whitby Water Supply Plant (WSP) will be detoured to the new alignment next to Water Street.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Regional Road 57 in the Township of Scugog.
When: May 1 to June 2, 2023. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Lane restrictions will be in place daily on Regional Road 57, from 160 metres west of Brenda’s Lane to 240 metres north of Scugog Point Road, and from 550 metres west of Cedardale Road to 480 metres east of Viewlake Road, in the Township of Scugog.

Come to our free Compost Giveaway events from April 29 to May 27

The Region of Durham has teamed up with the area municipalities to offer free compost to residents at special events taking place across the region from April 29 to May 27.
These are self-serve events.Residents must bring a shovel and containers to carry their compost. Quantities are first-come, first-served and limited to four blue boxes of compost per vehicle.

Road closures on Veterans Road and Holland Street in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of road closures on Veterans Road and Holland Street in the City of Oshawa.
When: The closures will be in stages fromMay 1 until September. Lane restrictions will also occur throughout the construction period. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Veterans Road, from Wilson Road South to Farewell Street, and Holland Street, from Bloor Street East to Veterans Road, in the City of Oshawa.
