Envision Durham’s Housing Policy Planning Discussion Paper open for input

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Planning Division has released its Housing Policy Planning Discussion Paper. This paper is the final paper to be released during the “Discuss” stage of Envision Durham’s public engagement program, and we need your input. Seasonal leaf and yard waste collection ending for the year

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is reminding residents that seasonal leaf and yard waste collection is ending and will resume in the spring of 2020.

When: The last curbside collection will take place the week of December 9.

Residents should check their waste management calendars, visit durham.ca/waste or download the Durham Region Waste App to see their specific collection days.

Lane restrictions on Bayly Street in Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Bayly Street, at the Begley Street intersection in Pickering.

When: November 27. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: One eastbound lane on Bayly Street will be closed at the Begley Street intersection in the City of Pickering.

Why: Ongoing work to repair a watermain break.

Lane restrictions on Bloor Street West in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Bloor Street West (Regional Road 22) in Oshawa.

When: December 2 to 13.

Where: Eastbound and Westbound on Bloor Street West, from 75 metres west of Oxford Street to 50 metres east of Oxford Street, in the City of Oshawa.

Why: To install water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer services in support of new development.

Ajax Water Supply Plant temporarily shutting down today for scheduled maintenance

Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Region works Department is advising residents that that the Ajax Water Supply Plant (WSP) will be temporarily shut down for planned maintenance activities. The Region does not anticipate water service in the area to be affected.

When: Thursday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Ajax WSP, 75 Lake Driveway, Town of Ajax.

Why: Scheduled maintenance.

Note: Water service in Ajax and Pickering will not be affected.
