Drop off electronic waste, household hazardous waste and reusable items in Whitby on June 15

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department, in partnership with the Town of Whitby, is hosting a Diversion Day on June 15. At the event, you can drop off electronic waste, household hazardous waste and reusable items, free of charge.
When: Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine).
Where: Whitby Operations Centre, 333 McKinney Drive, Whitby.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Planning Division has released its Growth Management–Urban System Discussion Paper. This paper is the third of several discussion papers to be released throughout 2019, as part of Envision Durham, the Region’s Municipal Comprehensive Review of the Durham Regional Official Plan (ROP). Nightly lane closures on Brock Road and Pickering Parkway in Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane closures on Brock Road (Regional Road 1), from from 40 metres north of the westbound Highway 401 off-ramp to 80 metres south of Kingston Road (Regional Highway 2), and on Pickering Parkway east and west of Brock Road, in the City of Pickering.

Reconstruction of Townline Road at Pebblestone Road in Clarington/Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department will be improving the intersection of Townline and Pebblestone roads, at the Oshawa/Clarington border.
When: Work is scheduled to begin June 3, and should be complete by mid-August. There will be lane restrictions for the duration of the project. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) for the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to plan for additional water supply, treatment, water storage capacity and pumping facilities in Sunderland.
When: Tuesday, June 18, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
