Flooding closes Brock Street South/Water Street in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising residents of localized flooding conditions on some Regional roads due to recent heavy rains. As a precautionary measure, Brock Street South/Water Street in Whitby has been closed.
When: Brock Street South/Water Street will remain closed until further notice.

Canada Day holiday will affect blue box recycling collection schedule

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents of changes to scheduled curbside Blue Box collection in observance of Canada Day.
When: July 3 to 8.
Where: Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby will temporarily have their collection moved to the following day.
This means that residents with collection scheduled for Monday, July 3 will temporarily have their collection moved to Tuesday, July 4. This shift will continue throughout...

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North, from Founders Gate to Taylorwood Road in Oshawa.
When: July 10 to 14. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street North from Founders Gate to Taylorwood Road in the City of Oshawa.
Why: New sanitary sewer connection to support new development.
