Newcastle WPCP Class EA Addendum Report available for review

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is seeking feedback from the public on the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Addendum for the Newcastle Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). The plant will receive upgrades to increase the sanitary sewage treatment capacity for the surrounding community. The upgrades will also include replacing the existing odour control system.

Durham Region to host Budget Town Hall

Whitby, ON – The Regional Municipality of Durham is hosting the 2023 Budget Town Hall on November 24. Residents are invited to join the Region’s Chief Administrative Officer, Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer and other members of the Region’s senior leadership team to learn more about the Region’s Business Plans and Budgets.

An in-person Public Information Centre is being held for input into the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the reconstruction and widening of Stevenson Road in Oshawa. The widening of Stevenson Road is identified in the Durham Transportation Master Plan as the preferred solution to address operational deficiencies, road safety and increasing traffic volumes.

Port Perry residents asked to conserve water during the completion of a watermain connection

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is asking residents using the Port Perry municipal water supply to practise additional water conservation efforts as the Works Department connects the recently installed watermain along Scugog Line 3. The new watermain will improve water supply for residents.
