Community engagement session for residents to provide input and help shape 1635 Dundas

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham has recently acquired a Whitby-based site that will provide housing to those who need it. Referred to as 1635 Dundas (formerly Sunnycrest Nursing Home), the site is an ideal location for temporary housing with wraparound supports and will help people get back on their feet again.
The Region will host a community engagement session to gather input on the health and human services that would be beneficial to the site.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) and a full closure of the intersection of Bowmanville Avenue and Regional Road 3/Concession Road 8 in the Municipality of Clarington.

Whitby, Ontario – Throughout the summer, Durham Region Health Department conducts weekly bacteriological water tests to determine if beaches are safe for swimming. The Public Health Ontario Laboratory in Peterborough tests the water samples.
Test results for the week of August 7 indicate that four public beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Park Road, south of John Street, in the City of Oshawa due to ongoing watermain break repairs.
When: Until the repair is complete.
