Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is an economic, social and environmental priority for Durham Region. The Region has six electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at its corporate headquarters building at 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby. The charging stations are located along the north wall on the first floor of the parking garage and are available for use by staff and visitors of Durham Region Headquarters for a fee. Designated parking for electric vehicles is also available.

Fees will be charged for the time a vehicle is connected to an EV charging station, not just for the period of time that the vehicle is being charged.

EV charging station users are responsible for acquiring the FLO app. Users are also responsible for familiarizing themselves with the proper and safe use of the equipment, payment of fees, and for moving their vehicle once charging has been completed. Users of the EV charging stations do so at their own risk.

A grace period of 30 minutes will be permitted once notification has been received by a user that charging has been completed. The user is expected to move their vehicle from the charging station spot to an available parking spot or to a designated EV parking spot.

EV charging spaces are intended solely for the charging of electric vehicles and are available on a first come, first serve basis for all employees and the public.

A fee of $1.50 per hour for use of the EV charging station will be billed to the user through the FLO app.
