Canada Post resuming operations

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to notify residents that Canada Post restarted operations on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, and is in the process of ramping up operations across Canada.
When: Canada Post has begun working on mail and parcels that have been trapped in the system since November 15. Any large Regional mail outs will not be accepted into the network until December 19.

Convenient curbside natural Christmas tree collection in January

Whitby, Ontario – When the holidays are over, Durham Region will provide its annual curbside collection of natural Christmas trees. Natural Christmas trees will be composted with leaf and yard waste.
When and where:
- Ajax and Pickering: Natural Christmas tree collection will be on regular collection days during the weeks of January 6 and 13 only.
- Brock, Clarington, Scugog and Uxbridge: Natural Christmas tree collection will take place on Monday, January 6 and Monday, January 13 only.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents of changes to curbside blue box, green bin, and garbage collection due to the holidays.
When and where: Across Durham Region, waste collection scheduled for Wednesday, December 25 will be moved to the following day. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents that the Regional Waste Management Facilities (WMF) in Brock, Scugog and Oshawa and the Household Special Waste Depot in Clarington will have revised days of operation during the holiday season.
When:
- Monday, December 23 – Closed (Closed on Mondays)
- Tuesday, December 24 – Closed
- Wednesday, December 25 – Closed
- Thursday, December 26 – Closed
- Friday, December 27 – Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
