Whitby, Ontario – This afternoon, the Province of Ontario announced an extension of the province-wide stay-at-home order.
When: Restrictions remain in effect until at least June 2, extending the stay-at-home order by an additional two weeks.

Durham Region houses more than 100 people experiencing homelessness since last summer

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham remains committed to ending chronic homelessness in Durham Region and is tracking progress towards reaching that goal.
Since July 2020, Durham Region’s Homelessness Support System has housed more than 100 people; more than 50 per cent were experiencing chronic homelessness, which means they had been homeless for at least six months in the previous year.

Whitby, Ontario – This afternoon, the Province of Ontario has announced an extension of the state of emergency and province-wide stay-at-home order.
When: Further restrictions go into effect on Saturday, April 17 at 12:01 a.m., extending the stay-at-home order an additional two weeks, for a total of 6 weeks.
What: In addition to the stay-at-home order, further restrictions include, but are not limited to:

Whitby, Ontario – This afternoon, the Province of Ontario declared a state of emergency and issued a province-wide stay-at-home order, beginning Thursday April 8.
When: Further restrictions go into effect on Thursday April 8 at 12:01 a.m. and will remain in place for at least four weeks.
What: In addition to the emergency brake measures, further restrictions in the stay-at-home order include, but are not limited to:
- Discount and big box stores will be allowed to open for sale of essential items only.
Durham Region moves to province-wide shutdown

Whitby, Ontario – Today, the Province of Ontario announced that—as of Saturday, April 3—Ontario will be imposing the “emergency brake”; and will enter into a province-wide shutdown for at least four weeks, due to concerning trends in public health indicators.
This also means the current COVID-19 response framework “Keeping Ontario Safe and Open” will be paused when this province-wide emergency brake comes into effect.
