Yard waste collection delays in Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham continues to experience yard waste collection delays in the Town of Ajax, Township of Brock, Municipality of Clarington, City of Pickering, Township of Scugog and Township of Uxbridge. Whitby, Ontario - The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of June 13 indicate that four beaches have been posted as unsafe for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.

Whitby, Ontario – As part of Durham Region’s commitment to create more inclusive sport opportunities, approximately $25,000 in modifications have been completed to improve accessibility for sledge hockey, also referred to as Para hockey or Para ice hockey at the national and international level, at Iroquois Park Sports Centre Arena 3 in Whitby.

EA Report for North Oshawa and North Whitby Water Storage and Pumping Facilities open for review

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify the preferred long-term water storage and pumping solution that meets the servicing requirements for the existing population and projected growth in North Oshawa and North Whitby. A Project File Report has been prepared and is now available for public review.
