Three-day road closure on Lake Ridge Road

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23). As part of the construction, a portion of Lake Ridge Road will be closed temporarily.
When: The closure will be from September 23 in the evening to September 26 in the morning. Road reconstruction work is ongoing on Lake Ridge Road until September 2023.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising Ontario Works (OW) recipients that monthly cheque pick up is Thursday, September 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as OW offices in Durham Region will be closed on Friday, September 30 in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is encouraging all residents living within 10 kilometres of the Pickering or Darlington nuclear generating stations to have a supply of potassium iodide (KI) tablets in their households. This recommendation is also aimed at pregnant and breastfeeding women, and parents of infants, children and adolescents as KI is both safe and most effective for these individuals.
