New all-way stop at Sandford Road/Herald Road and York Durham Line in Uxbridge

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, The Regional Municipality of Durham is implementing a new all-way stop at the intersection of Sandford Road (Regional Road 11)/Herald Road and York Durham Line (Regional Road 30) in the Township of Uxbridge.
Where: At the intersection of Sandford Road/Herald Road and York Durham Line in Uxbridge.
When: July 25. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Why: To improve road safety.

Test results for the week of July 15 indicate that seven public beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming. Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department has been advised by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that a water sample collected on July 15 from Lake Scugog, near Platten Island, indicates the presence of blue-green algae in the area.

Until November, Durham Region’s roadway line painting operations are taking place primarily on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional weekend and nighttime operations.
