Whitby, Ontario – The Bowmanville Household Special Waste Depot is permanently changing its weekend hours of operation, beginning Saturday, December 21.

What:

Hours of operation

• Wednesday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When: Saturday, December 21.

Holiday season brings changes to the waste collection schedule

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents of changes to curbside blue box, green bin and garbage collection during the holidays.

When and where: Across Durham Region, waste collection scheduled for Wednesday, December 25 will be moved to the following day. This shift will continue through the rest of the week, ending with the Friday, December 27 collection being moved to Saturday, December 28.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of a road closure on Oshawa Boulevard in the City of Oshawa.

When: December 16 to 20. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Watermain break causes lane restrictions near Centre Street and Athol Street in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions near the intersection of Centre Street (Regional Road 2A) and Athol Street, in the City of Oshawa due to a watermain break.

When: Centre Street has one southbound lane currently restricted, with the remainder of lane restrictions beginning at approximately 10 p.m. tonight to minimize impacts to traffic and water service disruption. Restrictions are ongoing until repairs are complete.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Church Street (Regional Road 24) in Pickering.

When: December 16 to mid-March.

Where: Church Street, from 400 metres south of Kellino Street to 250 metres north of Kellino Street, in the City of Pickering.
