Until September 30, The Regional Municipality of Durham is holding a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) about the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to plan for the sanitary sewage servicing needs of the Port Perry Employment Area in the Township of Scugog.
The PIC will include:

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Bloor Street East (Regional Road 22) in the City of Oshawa.
Where: Bloor Street East, from 20 metres east of Ritson Road (Regional Road 16) to east of Holland Street, in Oshawa.
When: August 20 to September 23. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

New protected left-turn signals at two Thickson Road intersections in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, The Regional of Municipality of Durham has modified left-turn signals at two Thickson Road (Regional Road 26) intersections in the Town of Whitby.
Where: The northbound to westbound left-turn signal at Thickson Road and Taunton Road (Regional Road 4), and the southbound to eastbound left-turn signal at Thickson Road and Dundas Street in Whitby.

Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department has received notification that adult mosquitoes in Clarington have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). There have now been 11 mosquito batches in Durham Region that have tested positive for WNV this season including, three in Ajax, three in Clarington, three in Oshawa and two in Pickering.
