Convenient curbside Christmas tree collection in January

Whitby, Ontario – When the holidays are over, Durham Region will collect natural Christmas trees to be shredded into wood chips and used as mulch.
When and where:
- Ajax and Pickering: Christmas tree collection will be on regular collection days during the weeks of January 7 and 14.
- Brock, Clarington, Scugog and Uxbridge: Christmas tree collection will only take place on Monday, January 7 and Monday, January 14.

- Don’t be late. Set your waste out by 7 a.m. the morning of your collection day, but no sooner than 7 p.m. the evening before.
- Keep the weight down. Containers and bags should weigh no more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds) each. Items that are too heavy will not be collected.
- Winter safety. During the winter, ensure material is free of snow and ice and visible to the collection crew. Do not place material on top of snow banks.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents of changes to curbside blue box, green bin and garbage collection due to the holidays.
When and where: Across Durham Region, waste collection scheduled for Tuesday, December 25 will be moved to the following day. This shift will continue through the rest of the week, ending with the Friday, December 28 collection being moved to Saturday, December 29.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is seeking individuals to serve as members of the Energy-From-Waste – Waste Management Advisory Committee (EFW-WMAC). This is a volunteer position that provides advice to the Works Committee on issues such as waste diversion, waste management, environmental performance and monitoring of the Durham York Energy Centre (energy-from-waste facility).
