More bus-only and bicycle lanes along Durham Highway 2 in Ajax and Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – Three more segments of dedicated bus-only and bicycle lanes are now complete along Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2) through Ajax and Pickering.

The three new Kingston Road segments (Whites Road, Brock Road and Westney Road) add dedicated bus-only and on-road buffered bicycle lanes, along with the existing two lanes in each direction. Dedicated right- and left-turn lanes are provided at the major intersections.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Rossland Road West (Regional Road 28), from Bunting Court to 300 metres east of Riverside Drive in Ajax, due to a watermain break.

When: Repair work is ongoing.

Region looks at long-term organics management plan

While most households in Ontario have access to recycling programs, not all municipalities have organic waste programs. Most of the larger municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area have curbside green bin programs, but not everyone is using them. In Durham Region, waste audits show that one third of organic waste is still ending up in the garbage bag.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising residents of lane restrictions on Stevenson Road North (Regional Road 53) in the City of Oshawa.

When: December 10 to 12, daytime only. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: North and southbound lanes on Stevenson Road North, from Bond Street West to Creighton Avenue, in Oshawa.

There will be a scheduled service disruption at: Durham Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby - Provincial Offences Act (POA) Parking Lot (southwest of the west entrance)

The disruption will be from: Wednesday, December 5 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
