Whitby, Ontario – The province has announced new legislation that will enable municipalities to support the building of stations along new GO train routes. This recent decision will enable The Regional Municipality of Durham to explore funding the up-front costs related to station construction for all four new stations along the GO Lakeshore East Extension to Bowmanville.

Whitby, Ontario – In partnership with Public Safety Canada, Durham Region has opened applications for the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Fund: Building Safer Communities Grants program, to support small, not-for-profit organizations and community groups with violence prevention projects in Durham Region communities.
Applications to receive funding should be in alignment with, and further the goals and implementation of, the Durham Region CSWB Plan and the Durham Region Strategic Plan.
