Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2022 water supply and sanitary sewer user rates, with a combined increase of 1.8 per cent, an estimated annual increase of $19.52 per year for the average Durham Region household.

Sanitary sewage forcemain repair

The Region of Durham has dispatched crews to repair two sanitary sewage forcemain (pressurized pipe) breaks that occurred at Michael Boulevard Sanitary Sewage Pumping Station in the Town of Whitby. Specialized equipment is working to divert sanitary sewage on site; however, some sewage may reach Lynde Creek or the green space around it. Staff are working diligently to minimize any impacts. The timeline for completion of the repairs is unknown at this time.

Whitby, Ontario –The Regional Municipalities of Durham and York have submitted an Environmental Screening Report to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
