Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise residents of additional traffic restrictions as part of the Athol Street construction project to install new watermains and sewers.
When and where: Celina Street, between King Street and Athol Street, will be closed nightly from Tuesday, April 2 to Friday, April 5 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Durham Region begins eliminating single use plastics at Regional Headquarters

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is taking steps to eliminate single use plastics at Regional Headquarters (HQ).
Bottled water (with the exception of carbonated water) will no longer be sold at Regional Headquarters. Visitors to HQ are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles that can be filled at one of two filling stations located on the first floor of Regional HQ – one of which is conveniently located in the cafeteria.

Construction on Bowmanville Avenue in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – A section of Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) will be under construction until the end of the year. There will be lane restrictions and road closures as a result of the construction work.
When: Work is scheduled to begin April 1 and is expected to be complete by December. Unfavourable weather conditions may affect the work schedule.
