Region of Durham facilities remain closed until further notice

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents that Regional facilities will remain closed to the public, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regional Council will continue to be held electronically until further notice.
When: Durham Region facilities that are currently closed will remain closed until the new year.
Where: Regional facilities in Durham Region.
Why: To protect the health and safety of the public and Regional staff, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Improving road safety with red light cameras

Red light cameras have arrived at select locations throughout Durham Region to improve traffic safety and reduce fatalities on our roadways.
Red light running has the potential to cause serious injury or death for both the offending driver and innocent victims. In Durham's Strategic Road Safety Action Plan, these cameras were identified as a priority safety countermeasure to reduce T-bone collisions at intersections.

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is launching a new video to help highlight that information about KI tablets on preparetobesafe.ca is available in 10 languages.
