Residents reminded not to illegally dump their waste

Whitby, Ontario – Communities across Durham Region have seen an increase in illegal dumping, and the Region of Durham is reminding residents that if caught illegally dumping, residents can face fines, if convicted, of up to $10,000. Leaving materials in parks, along the roadside, or on other’s property without their permission is detrimental to the health and safety of the community, and actions like this burden the resources needed to manage the COVID-19 response.

Whitby, Ontario – As the COVID-19 pandemic has seen most public spaces close, the Region of Durham is working with municipal partners and community agencies to ensure that unsheltered residents have access to essential services, such as washrooms, showers and a safe place to sleep.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane restrictions on Olive Avenue (Regional Road 59) in the City of Oshawa.
When: Ongoing until May 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may affect the schedule.
Where: Olive Avenue (Regional Road 59), from Grandview Street to Townline Road (Regional Road 55), in Oshawa.
Why: Road rehabilitation.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) and Winchester Road (Regional Road 3) in the City of Oshawa.
When: April 27 to June 1, 2020. Unfavourable weather conditions may affect the schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street from 500m south of Winchester Road to 250m north of Winchester Road and Winchester Road from 320m west of Simcoe Street to 310m east of Simcoe Street.
