Residents invited to provide input for Durham Region’s new strategic plan

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is currently renewing its five-year strategic plan, which will help guide the Region’s decision-making and allocation of resources over the next five years. Local community organizations, businesses and residents are invited to share their ideas and provide input about the future of Durham Region at one of the upcoming town hall discussions taking place in August.

Lane restrictions on Durham Highway 2 in Newcastle

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents that there will be intermittent lane restrictions on a portion of Durham Highway 2 (King Avenue East) in Newcastle, as crews work to restore the Graham Creek Channel.

Whitby, Ontario - The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of Aug. 5 indicate that three beaches have been posted as unsafe for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the Provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.
