Upcoming road closures on Lake Ridge Road

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23). As part of the construction, a portion of Lake Ridge Road will be closed temporarily.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has teamed up with the area municipalities to offer free compost to residents at special events taking place across the region.

COVID-19 vaccine spring boosters now available for high-risk groups

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is encouraging residents in specific high-risk populations to receive a COVID-19 booster dose this spring.
Due to decreasing immunity and the risk of severe illness from COVID-19, individuals in the following high-risk groups are recommended to get a spring COVID-19 booster dose if it has been at least six months, or 168 days, since their last COVID-19 vaccination or confirmed COVID-19 infection: adults 65 and older; residents of long-term care...

Slow down in construction zones! Our road equals their workspace

With the warmer weather, the number of construction projects increases. To protect the safety of workers, other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, all drivers are reminded to slow down and proceed with caution through construction zones or areas where workers are present.
Drivers are also reminded that speed limits are reduced in construction zones, and fines are doubled when workers are present.
