Beware of new water treatment sales tactics being used in Durham

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents that the Region does not sell or endorse water filters or treatment equipment. The Region has been contacted by concerned residents inquiring about phone calls from salespersons who want access to their home to test the water or inspect the water service. Donate household items to charity at Reuse Days

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is encouraging residents to drop off reusable items, free of charge, at Reuse Days. The items will be donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores (Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge locations), Diabetes Canada and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
When: Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Water pressure fluctuations in areas of Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to inform residents that an emergency valve repair will cause municipal water supply fluctuations for residents in the vicinity of Liverpool Road (north of the hydro corridor) in Pickering.
When: Effective immediately. Work to repair the watermain is estimated to be completed by 6 p.m. Work will begin again tomorrow, so residents may experience water supply fluctuations tomorrow (July 7) as well.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction will close Essa Crescent (north of Breezy Drive) in Pickering for approximately two months.
When: Essa Crescent will be closed from July 17 to September 29. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
