New all-way stop at Simcoe Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero and in collaboration with the Township of Brock, The Regional Municipality of Durham is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15) and Osborne Street (Regional Road 23) in the community of Beaverton.
Where: At the intersection of Simcoe Street and Osborne Street in Beaverton.
When: Scheduled to be installed November 8. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Why: To improve road safety.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is conducting a Class Environmental Assessment Addendum (Class EA Addendum) for the Ajax Water Supply Plant (Ajax WSP) to expand the existing water supply plant, in the Town of Ajax.
When: The Class EA Addendum was initiated on October 24 and will be a multi-year project. This Class EA will be an Addendum to the previously completed 1991 Class EA.

Region of Durham celebrates opening of Beaverton Heights transitional housing

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is beginning to welcome program participants to Beaverton Heights transitional housing.
The 47-unit residence provides accommodation and access to wraparound services. Located at 121 Nine Mile Road, Beaverton, the residence includes a community hub space, outdoor garden areas and recreational facilities. The virtual tour is available on YouTube.

Canada Post restarted operations on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, and is in the process of ramping up operations across the country.
