Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions and a weekend road closure on Salem Road (Regional Road 41) in the Town of Ajax.
When: On Friday, August 20, starting at 7 a.m., lane restrictions will begin, with the road closure starting at 6 p.m. The road closure will continue until 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 22. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is now accepting expressions of interest from youth aged 16 to 25 who wish to be considered for volunteer membership on the Durham Region Roundtable on Climate Change (DRRCC).
When: Expressions of interest must be submitted by August 27, 2021. A decision on the appointments will be made by Durham Regional Council on September 29, 2021.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane shifting and restrictions on Bayly Street (Regional Road 22) in the City of Pickering.
When: August 16 to the end of September. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – Effective Aug. 14, Durham Region Health Department will begin winding down local COVID-19 vaccine mass immunization clinics, giving community members a few more weeks to get their first or second dose at one of these clinics.

Whitby, Ontario – The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of Aug. 2 indicate that two beaches have been posted as unsafe for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.
