Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane restrictions on Bloor Street (Regional Road 22) in Courtice, in the Municipality of Clarington.
When: August 23 to September 10. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Bloor Street, from Prestonvale Road to 150 metres east of Prestonvale Road in Courtice.
Why: Construction of sanitary services to support new development.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to assure residents that our water continues to be safe to drink despite possible earthy or musty odours detected recently. Taste and odour episodes are caused by seasonal biological changes in Lake Ontario and typically occur in the late summer or early fall.

Whitby, Ontario – The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of Aug. 9 indicate that three beaches have been posted as unsafe for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.
