Region of Durham offers new online system for social housing vacancies

Whitby, Ontario – As part of At Home in Durham, the Durham Housing Plan 2014-2024, a new online system is now available for applicants on the rent-geared-to-income (RGI) housing waiting list in Durham Region.
The Durham Access to Social Housing (DASH) Vacancies Site at www.durham.ca/DASH allows applicants to view and express interest in RGI vacancies, that they qualify for, with social housing providers and some private landlords throughout the region.

2016 Business Count results now available

Whitby, Ontario – In the summer of 2016, The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Planning and Economic Development Department, conducted its fifth Business Count as part of an annual Regional project that gathers employment statistics, and promotes local economic development initiatives. Update: Wilson Road South in Oshawa to remain closed due to watermain break

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that Wilson Road South will continue to be closed at the intersection of Bloor Street East, until next week.
When: Wilson Road South will be closed until approximately Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Where: Wilson Road South is closed at the intersection of Bloor Street East (around Highway 401).
Why: To repair a broken watermain and related damage to the road base and asphalt.

Durham Region's Economic Development team establishes foreign investment opportunity in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – Due to the efforts of Durham Region’s Economic Development’s team, a $10 million investment in the future of Cleeve Technology International (Cleeve), a high-technology company based out of Oshawa, was recently completed with a Chinese investor.
