Holiday hours for Durham Region's waste management facilities and call centre

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents that its waste management facilities (in Brock, Scugog and Oshawa) and waste management call centre will have revised hours of operation during the holiday season.

Durham Regional Council has approved a permanent Open Data program for The Regional Municipality of Durham. This will allow certain data to be made freely available to the public, in a machine-readable format, without any restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control. The launch of this program is the result of a 10-month Open Data pilot initiative, which was met with very positive results by those who had accessed the data.

Regional Council appoints an Integrity Commissioner

Today, Durham Regional Council approved the appointment of Guy W. Giorno as its Integrity Commissioner. Giorno, who is a representative of the law offices of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, will report directly to Regional Council from Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2021.
