Whitby, Ontario – Today, the Region of Durham launched the Durham Council on Aging’s Beauty of Experience Campaign to combat misconceptions about aging. It showcases older adults actively contributing to society and sharing their experiences to benefit the next generation, while staying healthy and vibrant.
The initiative will also provide opportunities to keep older adults socially engaged, while addressing issues pertaining to social isolation, inclusion and elder abuse.

Regional Council approves 2021 water and sanitary sewer user rates

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2021 water supply and sanitary sewer user rates, with a combined increase of 0.75 percent, or $1.93 per quarterly billing ($7.72 per year) for the average Durham Region household.
In addition to ongoing maintenance and operation of the water supply and sanitary sewage systems, Durham Region has several planned major capital projects for 2021 including:

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, the Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a new all-way stop in the community of Sunderland in the Township of Brock.
When: The new all-way stop is scheduled to be installed December 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the installation schedule.
Where: River Street (Regional Road 10) and Church Street in Sunderland.
Why: The new four-way stop will require drivers in all directions to stop their vehicle completely...
