Spring cleaning? Donate household items at Reuse Days

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is encouraging residents to drop off reusable items, free of charge, at Reuse Days. The items will be donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores (Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge locations), Diabetes Canada and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
When: Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham will participate in Earth Hour, on Saturday, March 25 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., by reducing lighting at several of its facilities. Local businesses and residents are encouraged to join the Region in promoting energy efficiency during this time and throughout the year.

Whitby, Ontario – The Durham Emergency Management Office (DEMO) reminds residents to be prepared for emergency situations this spring, such as the potential for flooding caused by melting snow or heavy rains—which can result in hazardous driving conditions, issues in and around your home, and increased water levels in local bodies of water.
