The Durham Immigration Portal is an online resource to attract, welcome and support new immigrants and businesses to the region. It provides information and services for newcomers to facilitate a successful transition into the local community. The content is managed by over 60 organizations across various sectors. The portal also translates into 57 languages.

Immigrant services welcome centres

Durham Region is also home to two Immigrant Services Welcome Centres. These centres provide all the services a newcomer may need, ranging from language classes and banking, to real estate information.

In 2016, immigrants comprised 24.1 per cent of Durham's population.
