Virtual Behaviour Resource Fair will offer strategies to manage problem behaviour in children

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is hosting its first Virtual Behaviour Resource Fair to help parents, caregivers and professionals manage problem behaviour in children (ages two to 12 years old). Please note: registration is required to attend.
When: Saturday, June 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Due to COVID-19 physical distancing measures, this event will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Province fast-tracks second dose eligibility for this age group
Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department will begin rescheduling second dose appointments for individuals 80 and older on May 31 at 8 a.m. Existing scheduled appointments will be moved forward based on vaccine availability starting with dates around June 11. This change follows the provincial announcement on May 28 to accelerate second dose appointments for this eligibility group.

Whitby, Ontario – On May 26, Durham Regional Council approved the terms of reference for the Durham Region Anti-Racism Task Force (DRART).
The recommendation for the DRART comes as part of the Region’s commitment to develop and implement an Anti-Racism Framework to ensure a healthy workplace and to address racism within the communities the Region serves.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure of Finch Avenue (Regional Road 37) in the City of Pickering.
When: May 31 until the end of July. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Road closure on Finch Avenue, from east of Altona Road to Rosebank Road, in Pickering.
Why: To complete construction and installation of sanitary and storm sewers and watermain to support new development.
