Whitby, Ontario – Members of the public are invited to attend holiday sales at three of the Region’s long-term care homes—Hillsdale Estates, Hillsdale Terraces and Lakeview Manor. Proceeds from these events will benefit resident programs.

Whitby, Ontario – When daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 4, darker commuting hours will affect visibility on roadways. That’s why The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department – Traffic Operations Division is reminding drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to be vigilant and safe on the road as darkness comes earlier.

Whitby, Ontario – With the upcoming time change and local fire departments’ promotion of changing batteries in smoke alarms, the Region of Durham is reminding residents to save their used or unwanted batteries for recycling during the next curbside battery collection.
When: Battery collection occurs the week of November 5 on Blue Box collection days.
Where: Households across Durham Region who currently receive curbside collection services.
