Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department continues to expand eligibility for area residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition to residents 70 and older, or those who will be turning 70 this year, focus will now include individuals with Highest-Risk and High-Risk Health Conditions and residents in High Risk Congregate Living Settings. Durham Region moves to province-wide shutdown

Whitby, Ontario – Today, the Province of Ontario announced that—as of Saturday, April 3—Ontario will be imposing the “emergency brake”; and will enter into a province-wide shutdown for at least four weeks, due to concerning trends in public health indicators.
This also means the current COVID-19 response framework “Keeping Ontario Safe and Open” will be paused when this province-wide emergency brake comes into effect.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department is continuing to focus COVID-19 vaccination efforts for residents who are 70 years and older, or who will be turning 70 in 2021. The Health Department continues to follow Ontario’s vaccination plan for Phase 1 and 2 to address the priority groups as outlined by the province. The ability to add new priority groups is dependent on vaccine supply which is received from the province.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Olive Avenue in the City of Oshawa.
When: Daytime only from April 12 to 16. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
