2022 Transportation Tomorrow Survey rolls out in Durham Region
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, along with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Metrolinx, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and other participating municipalities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe, have partnered to deliver the 2022 Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS). The survey will collect information from households in Durham Region and other participating municipalities about trips made by each household member during a typical weekday, as well as select demographic information. The data collected helps to support planning for transportation infrastructure and service across central Ontario.
When: Invitation letters from the MTO will be sent out to a randomly selected sample of households from now until mid-December, inviting residents to complete the survey online or by phone. Some households will be contacted directly by phone to complete the survey.
Where: Durham Region and other participating municipalities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
Why: The TTS began in 1986 and has been conducted once every five years since then. The information collected is an important resource for local and regional governments, as well as the province, for various transportation studies used to support transportation planning and investment decisions.
