Environment and Your Health

The Health Department knows you need a healthy environment to be healthy.

We have many programs and resources to protect people from environmental dangers, including:

• Cold Warning Information System
• Heat Warning Information System
• Harmful ultra violet rays from the sun

We also provide inspection services and approvals for private sewage systems. The Ontario Building Code outlines these inspections. We offer these services in all but one Durham Region municipality.
