2022 Transportation Tomorrow Survey underway in Durham Region
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Metrolinx, Toronto Transit Commission, and other participating municipalities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe, have launched the 2022 Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS). Randomly selected households will receive survey invitations and may respond online or by phone. The survey data helps the Region plan for residents’ transportation needs, both now and in the future.
The survey collects information from households in the Region and other participating municipalities about trips made by each household member during a typical weekday, as well as select demographic information. Households that complete the survey will directly contribute to the effectiveness of the Region’s strategic plans, including the Region’s Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan, and the Regional Cycling Plan to name a few. The data collected keeps pace with demographic and geographic changes in the Region as the population grows.
The TTS supports investments in the Region’s transportation network. Durham residents can be assured that tax dollars invested are directed to neighborhoods where frequent public transit service, active transportation and road infrastructure are needed most.
Through its participation in the TTS, the Region is an active planning partner with the MTO and other participating municipalities to help ensure that Durham’s residents are helping shape their community’s transportation future.
