Announcing 311: An easier way to connect with Durham Region
![A graphic showing a hand holding a cell phone with 311 and photos of various Regional services in bubbles behind the hand. A yellow text bubble reads Need assistance but not sure who to call? Help is just three digits away. The bottom banner has text reading durham.ca, as well as the logos for Durham Region and myDurham 311](/en/resources/WaterBilling/311-Social-Media-Campaign-03-FB.png)
Customers can now connect with Durham Region by calling 311 for convenient access to information about Regional services like waste and recycling, water and sewer, and more.
Regional information is available by calling 311 within the geographical borders of Durham Region. If you are outside those borders, you can access information by calling one local number, 905-668-7711, or toll-free at 1-800-372-1102.
With 311, you don’t need to know the specific Regional department or employee you want to reach. With just one number, you can talk with a customer service representative who can either answer your question right away or connect you to the right person who can. If you’re calling for information about your city, town, or township, you will be transferred over seamlessly.
Durham Region handles more than 700,000 customer calls a year, connecting callers with services offered by 28 different business units. Now, customers only have to remember one number: 311.
Launching 311 is part of the broader myDurham 311 initiative, a transformational project aimed at improving the customer experience at Durham Region.
