Applications opening soon for the CSWB Fund: Building Safer Communities Grant Program
Whitby, Ontario – In partnership with Public Safety Canada, Durham Region will be accepting applications for the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Fund: Building Safer Communities Grant Program. This grant program supports initiatives that address youth justice involvement and violence in Durham Region communities.
Successful applicants will provide opportunities to vulnerable and at-risk children and youth in Durham Region; helping steer them away from gun and gang violence. Applications should focus on utilizing trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, which help promote positive youth and community development.

When: Submissions will be accepted from March 20 to April 30.

Why: Durham Region is committed to community safety and well-being; a process made possible through the implementation of our Durham Region CSWB Plan.
Not-for-profit organizations and other community partners are uniquely positioned to address complex community safety and well-being challenges; because they understand community needs and have expertise related to service delivery within these specific communities.
This funding will support local projects that address risk factors associated with gun and gang violence, by addressing the underlying social conditions that give rise to crime.
