Bike lane installation on Kingston Road in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario –

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of lane restrictions on Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2), between Wicks Drive and Lake Ridge Road in Ajax, as the Region installs bike lanes.

WHEN:

Work will begin October 4 and is expected to be complete by November 24. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHERE:

Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2), between Wicks Drive and Lake Ridge Road, in the Town of Ajax.

WHY:

Work includes pavement widening for bike lanes, reconstruction of bus stops and construction of bus bays.

NOTE:

Access to local businesses will be maintained. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
