Bloor Street West in Oshawa to be closed for construction
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that construction work will close Bloor Street West (Regional Road 22), from Simcoe Street to Cubert Street, as well as the Highway 401 off-ramp at Simcoe Street, in Oshawa.
When: The closure will begin on August 14 and last for approximately four months. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Bloor Street West, from Simcoe Street to Cubert Street, including the Highway 401 off-ramp at Simcoe Street, in the City of Oshawa.
Why: To safely install a new trunk watermain.
Note: The pedestrian tunnel adjacent to the Oshawa Creek will also be closed for approximately one week. Signs will be posted in advance to notify pedestrians of the closure.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
